The CJROTC Program at CCA assists in developing the all-around character of participating cadets. CJROTC teaches cadets skills and values such as leadership, honor, respect, self-confidence, and team building while emphasizing a Christian worldview. CCA’s CJROTC program emulates the United States Marine Corps as a service organization, however it is not affiliated with the DOD TECOM JROTC Program.
The CJROTC curriculum includes rank identification, organizational structures, customs and courtesies, drill and ceremony, basic rifle marksmanship using the .177 Pellet air rifle, along with many other United States Marine Corps skills. CJROTC emphasizes and builds confidence in both the cadet and the team, through individual leadership, unit cohesion, and espirit de corp. Additional CJROTC activities include cadet’s participation in physical fitness, color guard, drill team and community service throughout the academic school year.
All full time rising 9th through 12th grade students of CCA may apply to the CJROTC Program. Any full time rising 8th grade students of CCA require a personal interview with the Senior Military Instructor for a recommendation to apply for enrollment. Participating cadets must maintain academic and acceptable standards of conduct as well as all required CCA extracurricular athletic forms for participation in CJROTC.
The annual cost of CJROTC enrollment is $125 and includes all program fees and utility uniform. Additional uniform items required throughout the year which are not covered in the enrollment fee include United State Marine Corps compliant combat boots, CJROTC dress uniform, United States Marine Corps compliant dress uniform low quarter shoes, and additional items identified necessary to conduct training. The CCA CJROTC Program may conduct fundraising events to offset the additional requirements associated costs.
